Volunteer: Support Services Team Volunteer (Recurring)

This position is on-site at our National Headquarters in Frisco, TX. Our Support Services team values the support of our recurring volunteers who assist with our various tasks. We are currently at full capacity for recurring volunteers but feel free to reach out to volunteer@nbcf.org to express your interest in assisting our team if an opening becomes available.

Demonstrate a genuine commitment to the mission and values of our organization, which is centered around providing hope and essential items to those in need.

Physical Ability:

Be able to engage in physical tasks such as bundling, folding, counting, and preparing items that go into our HOPE Kits. This may involve standing for extended periods and lifting lightweight to moderately heavy objects.

Team Player:

Work collaboratively with other volunteers and team members to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.

Attention to Detail:

Demonstrate attention to detail when bundling and counting items to ensure the accuracy and quality of each HOPE Kit.

Reliability:

Commit to attending scheduled volunteer shifts punctually and reliably. If unable to attend, provide advance notice to allow for proper planning.

Please only sign up for this role if you are apart of the NBCF DFW Support Group that meets on the 3rd Wednesday of the month. If you are not apart of this group, you will be removed from this scheduled slot. 

NBCF DFW Support Group is invited to join our HOPE Kit team in prepping items for upcoming packing parties, assisting with counting inventory, or any other general needs that our NBCF HQ team may need to take place. 

Please sign up to help our team prepare for the volunteers that we should expect for all of the shifts.

HOPE Kits are care and comfort items hand-packed with love packed into boxes which are delivered to women currently undergoing breast cancer treatment. Each item is carefully selected to help soothe the side-effects of treatment.

For this event we will be building and packing each kit with love to ensure each woman who receives a HOPE Kit gets the best quality kit.

Event details:
- Arrive at front office where you will be checked in and greeted
- Receive quick training
- Pack HOPE Kits for breast cancer patients

Program: Support Services Team

Join in on this awesome volunteer opportunity no matter where you are located in the United States! Each encouragement card is handwritten and delivered inside a HOPE Kit to a patient facing breast cancer.

Follow these simple steps to spread hope:

Request Encouragement Cards here. Enter the number of cards you would like and place your orderWe will send you the cards and you can get together with your friends or loved ones to complete the cardsFollow the provided guidelines when writing the cards.For every 40 cards written, we will credit volunteers for 2 hours. Mail the cards back to us at the address below, and we will include them in HOPE Kits that are sent to breast cancer patients nationwide:
