Responsibilities:

Distribution of Boxes:

Collaborate closely with an NBCF Staff member to distribute boxes to individual packers. Ensure that each packer receives the allotted number of boxes for the designated hour.

Hourly Packing Oversight:

Monitor the packing process to ensure that packers only work on the assigned number of boxes for the hour. Provide guidance and support to packers as needed to maintain a smooth and efficient workflow.

Preparation for Next Hour:

As the packing hour progresses, anticipate the last 100 boxes and prepare for the transition to the next hour. Assist in setting up for the next hour by arranging the allotted number of boxes required for the upcoming packing session.

Maintain accuracy in box distribution and monitor packers to ensure adherence to the allotted number of boxes.

Team Collaboration:

Work closely with NBCF Staff members and fellow volunteers to coordinate the distribution and set-up process seamlessly.

Be flexible and adaptive, ensuring a smooth transition between packing hours and assisting with the set-up for the next hour.

Responsibilities:

Keep an eye on the HOPE Kit inventory levels, identifying and noting any items that are running low as packing progresses. Work closely with an NBCF staff member to communicate real-time inventory needs and ensure a smooth and efficient replenishment process. Be prepared to adapt to the needs of the packing process, standing and bending down as necessary to access and replenish items. 2 Volunteers will be selected every hour to assist with running materials to the dumpsters with an NBCF staff member.

Requirements:

Detail-Oriented: Pay attention to inventory levels and promptly address any shortages to maintain a well-stocked supply. Communication Skills: Effectively communicate with the NBCF staff member to convey inventory needs and collaborate on timely replenishment. Physical Stamina: Be comfortable with standing and bending down during the shift, as the demand for items may vary throughout the packing event.

Attire Recommendations: Volunteers are advised to wear comfortable clothing suitable for a dynamic environment, taking into account the need for movement and flexibility.

Verification of Packed HOPE Kits: Collaborate with NBCF staff to meticulously check each packed HOPE kit to ensure it includes all comfort items, NBCF branded collateral, and is appropriately packaged and sealed. Assistance with Packaging: Support the process of taping and preparing the packed HOPE kits for shipment to the UPS trailer.

Requirements:

Keen Eye for Detail: Possess attention to detail to identify any discrepancies in the contents or packaging of the HOPE kits. Ability to Work Under Pressure: Work effectively in a fast-paced environment to meet the demands of the packing event.

Attire Recommendations: Volunteers are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing suitable for a fast-paced and hands-on environment.

Updates:All volunteers must be 13 or older to attend the Community Packing PartiesDue to the increasing popularity of this role, we must now limit volunteer sign-ups to a maximum of 2 shifts. Any volunteer with more than two shifts on the same day will be removed from the remaining shifts.Teams - If you are signing up a team, please limit your team to no more than 10 individuals (including yourself). We want to allow others the opportunity to be a part of these exciting events.

At the beginning of each hour, receive clear and detailed directions on how to assemble HOPE Kits from start to finish. Collaborate with fellow volunteers to ensure a consistent and efficient assembly process.

Hands-On Kit Assembly:

Actively participate in assembling HOPE Kits, following provided instructions meticulously. Exercise care and mindfulness in packing each kit to guarantee its quality.

Comfortable Dress Code:

Dress comfortably, keeping in mind the active nature of the role and the need for walking during the assembly process. Wear shoes suitable for walking to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable volunteering experience. Loud Noises and High Energy Environment: The atmosphere of this event involves loud music and dimmed lights. If you have any sensory needs, please be aware of these for accessibility purposes.

Volunteers in this role will: Conduct a thorough check of all packed HOPE Kits to ensure they meet quality standards before loading into the UPS trailer. Loading and Moving: Collaborate with staff and fellow volunteers to efficiently move and load all packed HOPE Kits into the designated UPS trailer.

Requirements:

Physical Fitness: This role involves walking and lifting, so volunteers should be physically capable and willing to engage in these activities. Teamwork: Work closely with other volunteers and staff to streamline the trailer loading process.

Attire Recommendations: Volunteers are advised to dress in light layers and wear comfortable shoes, as the role involves a fair amount of walking. We provided ponchos for events that forecast rain.

Volunteers in this role will: check of all packed HOPE Kits to ensure they meet quality standards and efficiently place all packed HOPE Kits on silver carts in the Great Room.
